The Hesperian is looking for help in the following areas:
- Opinion Writers
- Sports Reporters
- Campus Life Reporters
- Academics Reporters
- Social Media Manager
If interested, please send an email to email@example.com that includes your first and last name, year, major, minor, and a writing sample (if wanting to be a reporter). Staff members must be Chapman University students.
The Hesperian accepts guest columns from both students and non-students about any topic. Pieces must be opinionated and within the limit of 400-800 words. Submissions are subject to editing for grammar and clarity. If interested, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your piece attached.
Letters to the Editor
If you would like to respond to an editorial, news story, or opinion piece, you have exactly one week from when the article you are responding to was published. We accept letters from students and non-students, and they must be no longer than 200-300 words. They will not be edited though must be fit for print with ultimate discretion up to The Hesperian editorial board. Please send an email to email@example.com with the subject “Letter to the Editor” and your submission in the body.
Submit an unpopular opinion in EXACTLY five sentences to our new Hot Takes section! Topics can be about anything, as long as they are school appropriate. Email submissions to firstname.lastname@example.org, and be sure to include name (first and last), major, and graduation year. This is only open to Chapman students. Hot takes may be subject to editing for grammar and clarity.
